Overall duty of this position is to plan, organize, direct, review and evaluate and perform day-to-day dispatch operations and activities, and assist during outage periods. The Operations Coordinator follows business unit policies and procedures to ensure the department is in compliance with customer site rules and regulations. There will be on-call and overtime requirements and some travel. This position requires a valid Nuclear Security Clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance within the first three months of employment.
Responsibilities- Receives incoming calls from internal and external customers.
- Plans, assigns, directs/co-ordinates, reviews and documents the work of NDE and technical personnel from clients.
- Plans, assigns, directs/co-ordinates the mobilization and demobilization of technical personnel to/from the individual job(s) and region.
- Plans, assigns, directs and coordinates the required orientation of the technical personnel.
- Plans, assigns, directs and coordinates the equipment required by the technical personnel.
- Plans, assigns, directs and coordinates the employee onboarding process in conjunction with HSE, Payroll and HR.
- Plans, assigns, directs and coordinates the activities of technical staff during non-chargeable time.
- Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of dispatch goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards.
- Develops and monitors NDE personnel scheduling, forecasting and utilization in conjunction with project managers.
- Monitors and evaluates service quality to ensure compliance with company and customer standards, including investigation of complaints with corrective action recommendations.
- Acts as a liaison between technical staff, management and clients to ensure excellent customer service and policy compliance.
- Identifies ways to increase revenue, decrease expenses and improve operational efficiency.
- Assists with development and submission of proposals.
- Manages company vehicles (insurance, registration, GPS, maintenance) and optimizes vehicle utilization.
- Coordinates travel for QC/NDE employees as required.
- Assists new employees with site-specific Security Clearance.
- Collaborates with other business units to improve procedures and processes.
- Adheres to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.

- Previous experience as a Coordinator or Dispatcher in an NDE company or comparable setting is strongly recommended.
- Training in Business Administration or similar field is an asset.
- Strong industry knowledge of NDE is an asset.
- Equivalent industry experience with other formal training and accreditations may be accepted.
- Office environment; primarily sedentary with normal temperature controls.
- Noise level usually quiet to moderate.
- Work outside normal business hours occasionally required; overtime during peak periods may be necessary.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedules and respond to requests without advance notice.
- Occasional to frequent travel within Canada may be required.
