Can Atom, a joint venture between Atkins Realis and Aecon, is delivering the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Project under a collaborative contract with Ontario Power Generation. The Electrical Quality Inspector supports the Retube, Feeder, and Boiler Replacement (RF ) of Units 5–8 and reports to the Electrical Quality Control Supervisor. The position will be based out of Pickering.
Responsibilities
Participate in the execution of required inspections as outlined in the Construction and Inspection and Test Plans (CITP).
Perform quality inspection in accordance with related CITP, codes, and customer specifications, including dimensional and visual inspections.
Review history documents including Certified Material Test Reports when required.
Complete all associated records for individual inspections with accuracy and completeness.
Support the Quality Control team on RF fielding questions related to quality and execution of inspection activities.
Obtain required training to be competent and proficient in executing inspections and recording results.
Support Quality Control activities and processes performed under the Quality Program, based on approved documented processes and in accordance with the contract, technical specifications, applicable codes and standards.
Support site QC activities associated with the project requirements for the assigned RF series.
Review and validate associated Quality Records at the earliest opportunity following completion of the field activity.
Qualifications
Sound knowledge of Safety and Quality Program principles in the nuclear industry.
Demonstrated people skills and ability to contribute to a positive Safety and Quality culture.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Adequate computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
QA/QC experience in electrical discipline.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and nights as required with little notice.
Time management awareness.
Effective interaction with people at all organizational levels to implement quality requirements.
Pay attention to detail and focus on the end result.
Demonstrated awareness and knowledge of applicable ISO, CSA, ASME and other technical standards and codes.
Physical ability to climb scaffolding, use respirators and plastic suites for long durations, use fall restraint systems, and tolerate temperature fluctuations.
Subject to eye exam requirements, annually.
Compensation
The expected pay range for this role is $45 – $55 per hour. Individual pay is determined based on factors such as work location, education, experience, unique skills, and job conditions, including certifications and specialized training.
