The Quality Control Supervisor leads on-site quality control activities to ensure all work meets established quality standards, client requirements, and internal quality programs. This role oversees a team of QC Inspectors, manages inspection and testing processes throughout the project lifecycle, and drives continuous improvement within the quality management system. The position requires experience in construction, QA/QC, and technical disciplines, along with proven leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Oversee all work activities to ensure compliance with quality standards, client requirements, and internal quality programs.Supervise, mentor, and provide clear direction to QC Inspectors on site.Plan, perform, and manage receipt, in-process, and final inspections and testing activities.Develop and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) when they are not provided by the client.Ensure accurate and timely completion of inspection reports, documentation, and work sign-offs.Monitor special processes and verify that all inspection and testing requirements are met.Identify, document, and manage non-conformances, including initiating corrective actions and following through to resolution.Coordinate QC activities with project teams, trades, subcontractors, and external parties to support project delivery.Interface with regulatory authorities and inspection agencies to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.Support implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the quality management system.Ensure compliance with safety programs and promote proper use, care, and calibration of inspection and testing equipment.Maintain control of inspection and testing records and ensure full traceability of quality documentation.Exercise authority to stop work when quality requirements are not being met and ensure appropriate corrective measures are taken.Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and civil teams on a range of Balance of Plant projects.Provide leadership, guidance, and feedback to foster a culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Essential Skills
Minimum 10 years of construction or trades experience.Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in inspection, non-conformance control, and test planning.Post-secondary education in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.Mechanical or electrical experience.Strong knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards.Proven experience with inspection and test planning, quality documentation, and compliance processes.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong leadership and team supervision skills.Demonstrated accountability and attention to detail.Effective problem-solving and decision-making ability.Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.Experience working with trades and managing field-based teams.Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Additional Skills & Qualifications
CWB ticket.Management experience leading QC or inspection teams.Experience working on mechanical, electrical, and civil projects, particularly in Balance of Plant environments.Experience coordinating with regulatory authorities and inspection agencies.Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industrial environments is an asset.Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in controlled environments when required.Flexibility to perform shift work, weekend work, and travel between project sites as needed.Work Environment
This is a primarily field-based role with potential exposure to physically demanding conditions, including work at heights, in confined spaces, and in controlled environments. The position follows a four-day workweek with 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. Day shift typically runs from 7:00 . to 5:00 ., and night shift from 5:00 . to 3:00 . Night shifts are infrequent and generally associated with specific projects;
assignments are first filled through volunteers and then through a rotation if additional coverage is needed. Overtime…
