Community Engagement Worker

The Youth and Community Engagement Worker plays a crucial role at the Durham Reception Center, reporting to the Manager and Team Lead. Your responsibilities include supporting youth activities, facilitating workshops, and creating outreach materials that will empower diverse communities. With a focus on anti-oppression and trauma-informed approaches, this role fosters a welcoming environment for youth integration and resettlement in the Durham Region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build relationships with community partners and vendors

• Support youth programming and engagement initiatives

• Organize inclusive workshops and recreational activities

• Conduct information sessions on education and health

• Promote community resources and services effectively

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience with youth or diverse communities

• Degree in social work or related field preferred

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Experience in delivering educational programs

• Valid Ontario driver’s license
