Chartwell needs a Driver prepared for accessible transportation, emergency situations, and changing outdoor conditions. Strong organization and passenger support skills matter daily.
In this Driver role, you will create safe, comfortable travel for residents, staff, and volunteers. Duties include supporting wheelchair passengers, loading equipment, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and completing safety checks. You may chaperone outings and must communicate professionally with colleagues, residents, and the public.
Key Responsibilities:- Safely operate the residence vehicle during outings
- Help passengers board and sit securely
- Prepare for emergencies while passengers are in transit
- Load and unload equipment efficiently
- Complete maintenance, safety checks, and cleaning
- Previous driving experience with a clear driving record
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain training
- Organizational skills for a safe vehicle environment
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather and traffic
- Clear criminal background check, VSS, and TB test where required
