You

have:
  • University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field of study - or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, preferably in a unionized environment within a broader public sector agency and/or medium to large private/public corporation, including at least 3 years in program or people leadership roles
  • Expertise in administering compensation and benefits and recognition programs
  • Knowledge of pension plan design and administration requirements
  • Experience with labour and compensation legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Pay Equity Act, Pension and Benefits Act, and Labour Relations Act
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize new or changing information into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, combined with tact, diplomacy, and objectivity
  • Strong leadership skills to manage, coach, and mentor staff while delivering on strategic objectives
  • Willingness to travel to head office, field offices and corporate events across Ontario as needed

What you will do:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of MPAC’s total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, retirement, and recognition initiatives
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to senior leaders to ensure total rewards programs support MPAC’s business objectives and attract, retain, and engage top talent
  • Oversee annual compensation processes, market reviews, pay equity, and job evaluation to ensure compliance, competitiveness, and internal equity
  • Manage employee group benefits and retirement programs, leading renewals, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Monitor trends, legislation, and industry practices to recommend enhancements that improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness
  • Manage and coach a team of professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to deliver effective communications, education, and support for managers and employees
  • Champion employee engagement through innovative recognition and rewards initiatives, ensuring alignment with MPAC’s culture and values
