LBC Background:
The congregation started with the assembling of approximately five families in 1984 that wanted a church where the emphasis would be on the teaching of the Bible. The church originally met in the Groveport Town Hall and then in the Obetz Senior Center until acquiring an actual “church building” in Reynoldsburg, Ohio in 1989. As the congregation grew, property was purchased in Pickerington, Ohio and the congregation moved to the current location when the church building construction was completed in 2002.

LBC is and shall ever be committed, not simply in principle, but in practice, to emphasizing from its pulpit the expository, verse-by-verse, teaching and preaching of the entire Bible. This commitment does not preclude textual, topical, or categorical teachings. The pulpit of LBC shall be a place where the teachings are from the Word, not merely about the Word. There are traditionally three, one-hour services per week – Sunday 9:30am, Sunday 11:00am, and Wednesday 7:00pm, each covering a different portion of scripture.

LBC has several internal and external ministries including but not limited to: Preparatory school for PreK-12 youth, music, annual Vacation Bible School, camps and retreats, prison and other outreach ministries, Operation Christmas Child, small group Bible studies, Pickerington “Christmas on the Town”, and other community outreach programs and events.

We Believe:
  • The Bible (Bibliology)
    • The Bible, which comprises the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally and wholly inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original documents.
    • The Bible is the final authority in all matters of our faith and practices.
    • The apocryphal books are not canonical.
  • Hermeneutics
    • The Bible is to be interpreted normally; that is, it is to be taken literally when possible and figuratively when necessary.
    • When a passage in the Bible is figurative, the underlying meaning of the figure is literal.
  • Dispensations
    • God has administered, does administer, and will continue to administer His purpose on the earth through various dispensations.
    • There are at least four chronologically successive dispensations revealed in the Bible, namely
    • The dispensation of the Gentiles

    • The present dispensation of the Church
    • The future…
