Staff LPN - Med Surg 1, nights, Pickerington
Full‑time night shift with weekend and holiday rotation. Provides nursing care to patients and families along the health‑illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team. The LPN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. The LPN delegates nursing tasks to UAPs and serves as a resource for other associates.
Does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment. Collect and document data, review team data, identify findings, communicate via referrals, rounds, huddles, reports, and care conferences. Use assessment data to identify nursing diagnoses and collaborate with providers.
- Document nursing interventions based on diagnoses. Initiate and coordinate care plans and medical management plans. Promote cost effective care and quality improvement. Carry out and document interventions to assist patient/community.
- Evaluate and document responses to interventions; revise plan of care as needed.
- Delegate tasks per criteria and state statutes. Review delegated work. Coordinate continuity of care. Coach other employees.
- Participate in process improvement activities to achieve clinical quality, satisfaction, and financial performance. Act as patient advocate. Manage resources to maintain a safe environment.
- High School or GED (Required)
- BLS – Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
- LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse (National Council of State Boards of Nursing)
- Current Ohio state license
- Successful completion of Ohio Board of Nursing–approved medication course
