Support Lead Overview
Under the leadership of the Store Manager/Leader and Customer Service Manager, the Support Lead assists with the direction of Front End Lead(s) (if applicable) and sales associates while the Manager is on duty. The Support Lead is responsible for all key functions of the store as directed and is expected to “Wow the Customer" by assisting with front end operations, cash management, cleanliness, safety, and driving sales.

- Ensure that all associates and managers are wowing the customer through personal contact.
- Achieve CSAT score goals provided by the District Manager.
- Lead Front End Operations.
- Train staff on the High Fives of Customer Service.
- Ensure each guest has a fast, friendly checkout.
- Maintain store cleanliness and readiness at all times.
- Open and close store procedures.
- Assist with Front End Operations.
- Perform store manager duties in their absence.
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop all associates.
- Review all corporate communications and react accordingly.
- Partner with supervisors or corporate office regarding store issues.
- Drive store sales and control expenses.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure payroll is within budget.
- Assist with merchandising procedures.
- Adhere to and hold associates accountable to all Five Below Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Handle cash procedures including preparing and dropping bank deposits.
- Authorize register functions such as post voids, returns, and discounts.
- Comply with Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Assist in receiving and stocking procedures.
- Unload merchandise from trucks.
- Check in shipments.
- Stage merchandise for the sales floor.
- Pack out merchandise.
- Assist front end and queue merchandising.
- Drive key metrics:
Sales, ADS, CSAT Scores, and Expense Control. - Perform store maintenance including taking out garbage, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, and maintaining the stock room.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- College experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Creative thinking.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
