Quality Technician​/Production Proxy

The Quality Technician / Production Proxy supports both manufacturing operations and the

Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management System. Supports customer-specific

requirements including PPAP submissions, IMDS administration, engineering change

management, and maintenance of automotive quality documentation.

This position performs production activities, quality inspections, compliance documentation,

continuous improvement support, and serves as a liaison between production and QSE

functions.

• Production Operations:
  Perform production tasks, support scheduling, monitor equipment, package products, maintain work areas, and assist with workflow coordination.
• Quality Assurance & Inspection:
  Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections, maintain quality records, verify compliance with specifications and ISO requirements.
• Assist in the preparation, submission, and maintenance of customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation packages.
• Coordinate collection of required PPAP elements including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, dimensional results, material certifications, capability studies, and supporting quality records.
• Maintain customer PPAP records and ensure approved documentation remains current and readily accessible.
• Create, submit, and maintain International Material Data System (IMDS) entries to support customer and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain material composition information and
• Review IMDS submissions for accuracy, completeness, and customer acceptance status.
• Maintain records of approved IMDS submissions and customer feedback.
• Support compliance with environmental regulations, restricted substance requirements, and customer-specific material reporting standards.
• Nonconformance & Corrective Actions:
  Identify issues, support root cause analysis, assist with corrective actions, and escalation recurring concerns.
• Environmental, Safety & Compliance:
  Support ISO 14001 activities, environmental initiatives, audits, and safe work practices.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Analyze quality and production data, assist with Lean and Six Sigma activities, and improve procedures and work instructions.
• Communication & Coordination:
  Serve as liaison between production and QSE functions, communicate requirements, and support employee training.
• Additional duties as needed.

• Foundational knowledge in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, with the ability to apply quality standards on the production floor.
• Experience or familiarity with Quality Auditing and Quality Management processes to support compliance and continuous improvement.
• Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends or deviations, and support root-cause analysis and problem resolution.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with production teams, supervisors, and quality leadership.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform hands-on inspection tasks for extended periods in an on-site production setting.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and use of quality or production systems.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or quality-related roles preferred; technical or vocational training in a related field is beneficial.
