West Whitlock Recreation Area Summer Seasonals

Seasonal positions available at the West Whitlock Recreation Area in Gettysburg, SD. Minimum hourly pay is $14.38. Seasonal housing is available for selected applicants.

• Assist with maintenance of park buildings and grounds.
• Perform mowing, weed whipping, spraying, watering, and operate equipment such as mowers, tractors, skid loaders, weed sprayers, and trucks.

General Requirements:
Ability to work independently, manage time well, and work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. A valid driver’s license is required. Uniforms are provided and employees must comply with the uniform dress code.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Lawn care and tree maintenance; use of small hand and power tools; operation of lawn mowers, UTVs, skid steer, and tractors; safe handling and maneuvering of trailers.

• Assist in overall operation and maintenance of assigned campgrounds and day-use facilities.
• Manage reservation system, collect camping and entrance fees, and provide information to the public.
  
  Clean comfort stations and fire grates; assist with other park maintenance as needed.
• Work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

General Requirements:
Money handling experience is helpful. Ability to work independently, manage time well, and work in a variety of outdoor weather conditions. A valid driver’s license is required. Uniforms are provided and employees must comply with the uniform dress code.
