Traveling HVAC Controls Commissioning Field Service Tech (South Dakota) – $5K Sign‑On Bonus
Join Honeywell as a Traveling HVAC Controls Commissioning Field Service Technician. You will provide technical assistance and service to our customers in the HVAC industry, ensuring successful installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission, start up, and tune control systems to meet customer specifications.
- Install and troubleshoot pre‑engineered software and hardware, check out control systems, and perform start‑ups.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with high efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create tailored solutions.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Report incidents, near misses, and improvement opportunities through the SOS system.
- Perform open system and third‑party integrations and collaborate with other vendors.
- Maintain configuration management and backup of all changes during installation.
- Demonstrate system and conduct customer training for all functions.
- Support sales activities by presenting integrated solutions and retrofit opportunities.
- Travel up to 70% within assigned territories.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in building controls and automation.
- Experience with BACnet control systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Exceptional problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication skills, able to convey complex technical information clearly.

- Experience with Tridium Niagara 4 or Niagara AX.
- Knowledge of Honeywell Comfort Point® Open or compatible control software.
- 2+ years of commercial HVAC controls field service experience.
- Associates or certifications from a vocational or trades college.
- Strong customer focus and relationship building.

Travel requirements:
- Candidate must be based in South Dakota and will travel up to 70% of the time to customer sites primarily in South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and surrounding regions.
- May support customers in the Northern/Central territory (OH, IN, MI, IL, WI).
- During the first 90–180 days, may travel to other areas for training and assistance.
- Vehicle and travel/expense card provided for business use.
