This is a full-time, 40 hours weekly, position with the Department of Veteran's Affairs - Michael J. Fitzmaurice South Dakota Veterans Home. For more information on the Department of Veteran's Affairs, please visit (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..

This position works eight hour shifts daily from Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The position performs semi-skilled building maintenance tasks as assigned in areas such as boiler operation and maintenance, rough carpentry, painting, cleaning, and general maintenance to assist in the maintenance, repair, and operating needs of the facility. Occasional transports of residents to and from medical appointments.

Valid South Dakota driver's license required.

Experience in operating boilers, boiler maintenance, building/property maintenance, and general maintenance knowledge and skills are preferred and will be considered. Communication skills, honesty, friendly positive attitude, sense of urgency, and willingness to serve others will all prove valuable to the person filling this position.
