SummaryThis position works eight hour shifts daily from Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The position performs semi-skilled building maintenance tasks as assigned in areas such as boiler operation and maintenance, rough carpentry, painting, cleaning, and general maintenance to assist in the maintenance, repair, and operating needs of the facility. Occasional transports of residents to and from medical appointments.
Licensesand Certifications
Valid South Dakota driver's license required.
The Ideal Candidate Will HaveExperience in operating boilers, boiler maintenance, building/property maintenance, and general maintenance knowledge and skills are preferred and will be considered. Communication skills, honesty, friendly positive attitude, sense of urgency, and willingness to serve others will all prove valuable to the person filling this position.
Knowledge of:- the methods and practices of general building and facility maintenance;
- building construction;
- tools and equipment associated with the tasks of the position;
- the specific trade area associated with the position;
- Knowledge of how to operate equipment.
- communicate information clearly and concisely;
- use a variety of hand and power tools;
- follow instructions;
- lift 50 pounds or more;
- work from ladders, scaffolding, or in confined areas.
This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
