Software Engineer – State of South Dakota
Job | Pay Grade: 06 | Salary: $66,582.14–$91,329.00 Annually | Full‑time, 40 hours per week | Locations:
Pierre, Sioux Falls, Rapid City, or statewide
Responsibilities
- Build entire systems or features that are highly available, intuitive, scalable, and secure to meet current and future requirements.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure highly reliable and performant code that meets scalability, performance, and standards.
- Design, develop, code, and test programs, applications, and technical solutions following SDLC.
- Follow change and release management policies to ensure data integrity, compliance, and system stability.
- Identify and manage risks stemming from business activities.
- Advocate, recommend, and champion process improvements.
- Participate in team and system demonstrations to accept completed stories and features.
- Work with product managers to create software optimized for business metrics.
Qualifications
- A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum methodology, SDLC implementations, and Microsoft products (MS Visual Studio, Visio, .NET Framework, SQL Server, Power BI, Power Apps, Office 365, VB, Access).
- Experience executing SDLC against large systems implementations, solution development, and architecture with JEE (J2EE) or .Net.
- Object‑oriented analysis and design experience.
- Leadership and project management experience is beneficial.
