Msuez UK is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Pietermaritzburg. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual with some experience in accounting who is eager to grow their career in a dynamic and supportive environment.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely manner.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance with local regulations.
• Collaborate with senior accountants to analyze financial data and identify trends.
• Respond to inquiries from management and external stakeholders regarding financial information.
• Participate in audits and assist in the preparation of audit documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the finance department.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
