About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Construction Foreman to lead teams on various projects in and around Pietermaritzburg . This crucial role involves overseeing daily site operations, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and stringent safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce effectively.

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction crews, including labourers, skilled tradespeople, and equipment operators.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure project specifications are met accurately.
• Implement and enforce all site safety rules, regulations, and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Manage material and equipment resources efficiently, coordinating deliveries and site logistics.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure quality control.
• Maintain clear and concise daily logs and reports on project status, personnel, and any incidents.

• Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or similar supervisory role in the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes applicable to the Pietermaritzburg region.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., OSHA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
