Site Manager - Civil Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Site Manager to oversee construction projects in the Pietermaritzburg area. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of building sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes and safety regulations.

You will play a crucial part in the successful delivery of diverse construction initiatives, contributing directly to the company's reputation for excellence in the Kwa Zulu-Natal region.

• Plan and schedule all construction activities and resources effectively.
• Supervise and manage site personnel, including subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality benchmarks.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols across the construction site, conducting regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement timely corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Manage site budgets, control costs, and ensure efficient utilization of materials and equipment.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure clear communication and compliance.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Site Management or similar role within the construction industry.
• Proven track record of successfully managing civil construction projects from inception to completion.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
