Our client is seeking a capable Water Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, rehabilitation and implementation of water, sanitation, energy and waste management infrastructure projects. This role offers an opportunity to work on multidisciplinary projects while delivering technically sound, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and review engineering designs, specifications, drawings, quantities and technical documentation.
- Design and administer bulk water supply, reticulation and water treatment infrastructure.
- Conduct condition assessments and develop refurbishment recommendations for Water Treatment Works.
- Prepare feasibility studies, business plans, tender documentation and technical reports.
- Develop Integrated Waste Management Plans and support sustainable infrastructure initiatives.
- Assist with project management and construction administration.
- Liaise with clients and provide sound technical advice.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, industry standards, QMS, procurement requirements and OHS standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions.
- Support and mentor junior engineering staff.
- BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Masters Degree in Water Engineering would be advantageous.
- ECSA registration as a Candidate Engineer or Candidate Engineering Technologist.
- 3–5 years’ relevant post-graduate experience.
- Experience in Water Treatment Works condition assessments and refurbishment.
- Experience in bulk water supply, reticulation and water infrastructure rehabilitation.
- Exposure to waste management planning and IWMPs.
- Experience with feasibility studies, business planning, project management and construction administration.
- Full and valid driver’s licence.
- Proficiency in MS Office, GIS and relevant engineering software.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Revit would be advantageous.
- Strong technical, analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
