Senior Reservoir Engineer - Energy

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team in Pietermaritzburg . This role is crucial for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery and managing reservoir assets effectively. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing reservoir management strategies, contributing to the long-term success and profitability of our operations within the energy sector . • Develop and execute reservoir management plans to maximize economic recovery and ensure sustainable production.
• Conduct detailed reservoir characterization studies using geological and engineering data.
• Perform reservoir simulation and modeling to forecast future performance and evaluate development scenarios.
• Identify and evaluate new opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and optimize existing production techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers, to integrate data and insights.
• Prepare technical reports, present findings, and provide recommendations to management and stakeholders.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG Suite, Petrel RE).
• Strong understanding of reservoir physics, fluid flow in porous media, and well test analysis.
• Experience with data analysis , statistical methods, and uncertainty assessment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
