Senior Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing

Our client, a leading manufacturing firm in Pietermaritzburg , is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. • Lead the design and development of new mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
• Conduct thorough stress analysis , thermal analysis, and vibration analysis on mechanical components and assemblies.
• Oversee the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of machinery, providing technical guidance to production teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues in manufacturing equipment, minimizing downtime and improving performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and R&D, to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, manuals, and reports.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and manufacturing environments.
• Proven expertise in CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and thermodynamics.
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or eligible for registration is highly advantageous.
