Information Security Manager

Our client, a leader in its industry, is seeking an experienced and visionary Information Security Manager to spearhead their security initiatives from Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu-Natal . This senior leadership position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive information security strategies, policies, and programs to protect the organization's assets and data. You will lead a dedicated team of security professionals, manage security risks, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's information security strategy and roadmap.
• Oversee the management of security risks, including identification, assessment, and mitigation.
• Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices.
• Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
• Manage security incident response planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., POPIA, GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of security technologies and tools.
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments, and manage remediation efforts.
• Liaise with executive management and other stakeholders on security matters.
• Manage the information security budget and resource allocation.

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing enterprise-level security programs.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management, security governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies, threats, and best practices.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are mandatory.
• Experience in managing security incidents and crisis communication.
