The Registered Nurse/Midwife will play an important role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive nursing care within the NNICU Ward. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors while ensuring that nursing procedures and hospital standards are consistently followed. This position requires a professional who can work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicate with colleagues across hospital departments and provide high-quality patient care.
The successful candidate must also be able to supervise and support junior staff while maintaining accurate patient records. The Registered Nurse Midwife NNICU position is suited to an experienced healthcare professional who can demonstrate sound clinical judgement, adaptability and the ability to remain resilient in a demanding healthcare environment.
- Performing weekend duties as required.
- Providing a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- Utilising hospital supplies, equipment and resources in an economical and responsible manner.
- Cooperating and collaborating with other hospital departments to support quality patient care.
- Maintaining accurate patient and nursing records at all times.
- Serving on relevant departmental committees when required.
- Supervising and evaluating the quality of patient care through regular patient rounds.
- Assisting with the coaching, guidance and development of junior nursing staff within the unit.
- Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Supporting the NNICU Unit Manager in maintaining high standards of nursing care.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife.
- A Diploma in Midwifery or Advanced Midwifery is a requirement.
- 3-5 years' experience working as a Registered Nurse/Midwife in an NNICU Ward within a private healthcare facility
. - Computer proficiency.
