The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients admitted to the Medical 2 Ward. • Providing safe, effective and high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical 2 Ward.
• Conducting and participating in daily patient care rounds.
• Providing patients and their families with accurate, appropriate and adequate information throughout their hospitalisation.
• Assisting with the identification and implementation of department-specific micro-orientation for staff.
• Investigating patient and service-related complaints and assisting with appropriate resolution.
• Supporting effective SHEQ, risk management and infection prevention and control practices.
• Monitoring and implementing preventative measures to minimise clinical and workplace risks.
• Complying with all infection prevention and control requirements.
• Managing staff and stock resources effectively to minimise unnecessary wastage.
• Facilitating the appropriate maintenance and use of medical equipment.
• Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identifying doctors' preferences and stakeholder requirements and implementing appropriate practices within the working environment.
• Working effectively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes.

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
• 3–5 years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse in a Medical Ward.
