College Guidance Counselor

Job Summary

Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community High School seeks a part‑time or full‑time College Guidance Counselor beginning January 5, 2026. The College Guidance Department works diligently to prepare all high school students for their future beyond graduation, by working in partnership with parents, teachers, administrators, and college admissions representatives. Our College Counselors provide guidance, support, and information through individual, grade‑wide, and evening programs, starting in Grade 9, with a special emphasis placed on working with seniors in the fall and juniors in the spring.

• Provide college guidance and support to students, families, teachers, and administrators.
• Develop and implement individual and group counseling sessions.
• Coordinate and staff the College Application Boot Camp Program during the 2nd and 3rd weeks of August.
• Deliver professional presentations to groups of students, parents, and teachers.
• Assist with even‑hour counseling programs throughout the school year.

• A bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred).
• Experience working with high school students and their families.
• Current knowledge of the college application, standardized testing, and financial aid process and timeline.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Strong time‑management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Outstanding public‑speaking skills and a high comfort level leading professional presentations.
• Availability during the 2nd and 3rd weeks of August for the Boot Camp Program and select evenings throughout the year.

• Experience in college admissions or college counseling.
• Familiarity with college guidance platforms such as Naviance.
