job details: level: entry, job location: southeast arkansas college - pine bluff, ar 71603, position type: full time, education level: high school, travel percentage: negligible, job shift: day, job category: admin - clerical, job description: the administrative specialist i - admissions position is responsible for reviewing and processing documents including applications for admission to the college, transcripts, forms, records, and reports for accuracy and completeness of information and compliance with laws and regulations.
typicalfunctions:
- performs transcript evaluations, daily validation reports, imaging of documents to the student's electronic file
- performs other general office duties under general supervision, including daily interaction with students, staff, and faculty
- accurately composes and types routine correspondence and form letters
- enters data into the student information system and makes changes/corrections as necessary
- cross training to assist in the registrar's office
- performs other duties as assigned
- knowledge of record keeping and general office procedures
- knowledge of computers and software applications
- ability to conduct research and compile data in report form
- ability to establish and maintain filing systems
- ability to operate standard office equipment
- ability to analyze documents to determine compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures
- ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both orally and in writing
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- strong multitasking skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- experience with microsoft word and excel
- excellent computer, interpersonal, and communication skills
- the formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- associate degree in office administration or related field
- minimum of one year of clerical experience
- national career readiness certificate (ncrc)
other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the qualifications review committee.
