Position DescriptionThe Engineering Clerk is responsible for supporting the Engineering Department by performing clerical duties and administrative tasks to ensure data and documentation are accurately entered, maintained and controlled. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational and time‑management skills to support the engineering team in effectively meeting deadlines.
Position Responsibilities/Duties- Enter and update engineering data, including order details, part numbers, bills of materials, drawing references and revision histories into the company’s ERP/MRP and document control systems.
- Assist in maintaining a controlled system for engineering drawings, design records and specifications.
- Perform routine checks and audits of engineering data in the company’s ERP/MRP system to ensure its accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company engineering standards and naming conventions.
- Provide general clerical support, including copying, scanning, and distributing documents as necessary.
- Assist in preparing documents for audits and certifications as needed.
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards, safety protocols, and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a data entry, document control, or clerical support role within an engineering or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard office applications.
- Familiarity with technical systems such as ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle), PDM/PLM, or MRP tools.
- Ability to follow document control procedures and maintain confidentiality of technical information.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
