Summary ofJob Duties
Patrol assigned areas to detect and prevent crimes, enforce traffic laws, issue citations, and perform physical security checks of campus buildings. Must work rotating shifts (3 shifts over 24 hours) and may be required for overtime and work in extreme weather. Conduct investigations, report incidents, direct traffic, respond to alarms, assist motorists, monitor security and fire panels, review surveillance footage, and maintain status logs.
Responsibilities- Patrol campus to identify safety hazards and enforce traffic laws.
- Perform physical security checks of buildings and respond to alarms.
- Investigate crimes and accidents; write incident reports.
- Direct traffic during high‑density periods and issue citations as needed.
- Monitor security and fire panels and surveillance cameras.
- Maintain professional appearance and equipment; conduct routine equipment checks.
- Assist stranded motorists and provide emergency assistance.
- Test security systems and perform emergency phone functionality tests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Arkansas driver's license; at least 21 years of age and U.S. citizenship.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background investigation.
- Minimum physical and employment requirements for a law‑enforcement officer.
- Certification by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Certification Training in accordance with ACA 12‑9‑106 or an approved academy.
- No felony or domestic‑violence convictions or guilty pleas.
- Ability to qualify for weapon use and uniform wear (essential work‑first responder).
- Knowledge of traffic laws, security regulations, and law‑enforcement methods.
- Ability to direct traffic, maintain order, prepare reports, and communicate orally and in writing.
- Proficiency in operating motor vehicles used in patrol duties.
Salary: $37,565.58 – $43,000
