Responsibilities

  • Uses outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation individual treatment plans (ITP) in a problem-solving approach to formulate an appropriate plan of care.
  • Provides services with consideration of the physical, psychosocial, cultural/ spiritual, and age-specific needs of those served within the healthcare system.
  • Demonstrates appropriate use of equipment/supplies.
  • Uses appropriate safety and infection control measures.
  • Teaches/directs/advises/informs others in an appropriate manner.
  • Reports/records information legibly and appropriately.
  • Performs daily operational tasks as directed by Pulmonary Rehabilitation Coordinator with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates changes to ITP and any concerns to Pulmonary Rehabilitation Coordinator as needed.
  • Attends educational courses/seminars related to Pulmonary Rehabilitation to stay up to date on the latest practices.

Qualifications

  • Completion of accredited Respiratory Care Program required.
  • Current NC Respiratory care Board licensure required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care, or completion within one year in position.
  • ACLS certification required (or completion within one year in position.)
  • Successful completion of hospital–wide, departmental specific orientation, and annual competencies.
  • Previous Pulmonary Rehabilitation program experience preferred
  • Active license in other multidisciplinary position
