The Certified Surgical First Assistant anticipates the needs of the surgical team and assists the surgeon during operations. Responsibilities include selecting equipment, holding open incisions, stopping bleeding, closing incisions, and other technical tasks. They aid in exposure, wound closure, bleeding control, and intraoperative functions to ensure safe and effective surgeries.

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program
• Current certification by AST required
• 1-2 years OR experience preferred, with at least 1 year in a specialty
• BCLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited CSFA School required
