- Patient Care:
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, by injection, or inhalation.
- Start patient IVs.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients, answer their questions, and ensure their comfort.
- Position patients appropriately for scanning.
- Technical Duties:
- Conduct NM studies such as Nuclear Stress Tests, Bone Scans, HIDA Scans, Lung Scans, Thyroid Scans, Liver Scans, and Brain Scans.
- Prepare facilities according to procedural requirements and calibrate equipment as needed.
- Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals used, received, and disposed of per physician’s prescriptions.
- Perform computer processing and imaging enhancement.
- Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor the department's daily, monthly, and quarterly quality control (QC) under NRC guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with departmental protocols and safety standards.
- Collaboration:
- Work in an environment that prioritizes exceptional customer service, communication, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with a supportive management team.
- Utilize EPIC for documentation and communication.
- Education and Certification:
- Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine through NMTCB or ARRT.
- Basic bhires card card? oh sorry - Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Experience:
- Training and experience in conducting various NM studies, including Nuclear Stress Tests, Bone Scans, HIDA Scans, Lung Scans, Thyroid Scans, Liver Scans, and Brain Scans.
- Skills:
- Strong technical skills in preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals and operating NM equipment.
- Excellent patient care skills, including the ability to explain procedures and ensure patient comfort.
- Proficiency in computer processing and imaging enhancement.
- Ability to monitor and maintain quality control standards.
- Exceptional customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
