Horticultural Technician

This role is for an individual dedicated to fostering healthy landscapes through expert plant care, technical proficiency, and a commitment to supporting student learning in a dynamic outdoor environment.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform routine garden maintenance, including watering, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing plants to ensure optimal health and aesthetics.
• Assist with all aspects of greenhouse production, supporting plant propagation and cultivation.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems to ensure efficient water distribution.
• Operate and maintain landscaping tools (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers) safely and effectively.
• Diagnose plant health issues and apply appropriate treatments or pest control measures.
• Document service activities and provide detailed reports to supervisors.
• Engage with students, providing guidance and support as they learn in the garden environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent; formal horticulture training or certification is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in gardening, landscaping, or a related field.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to interact with and mentor students.
• Experience working with mobile-based technology.
