Position Description

This position is responsible for carrying out daily operations & maintenance tasks associated with pipeline and compressor station compliance and maintenance of Texas Gas pipelines in Pineville and other assigned areas. Key duties include compressor maintenance, reading rectifiers, valve inspection and maintenance, tank gauging, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling, gas sampling, one‑calls, preventive pipeline maintenance, operations related to meter station, valve site and right‑of‑way maintenance, gas quality monitoring, and assisting with construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities.

The role also involves operating facilities, assisting with repair and maintenance of reciprocating natural gas‑fired Cooper Bessmer engines, Solar Turbine and associated compressor units, including overhaul and mechanical repairs of all reciprocating natural gas engines and compressors. The employee will assist at other nearby areas when required, recognize and report abnormal and safety‑related operating conditions, accident and near‑miss reporting, and participate in emergency response (HAZWOPER).

Responsibilities also include regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances. The position will respond to call‑outs and participate in the on‑call rotation for pipeline and compression emergencies. The successful candidate must live within 30 miles of the Texas Gas Pineville Operations facility to respond expediently.

Required

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • 1 to 5 years of gas pipeline operations and maintenance experience or equivalent petrochemical/ oil industry experience.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, problem‑solving skills, and a history of safe work.
  • Ability to work outside in hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments; stand long periods and climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to utilize a PC and iPhone and manage a filing system.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet.
  • Ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and no restrictions; selected candidate will be required to maintain a Louisiana Class D license.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Electrical knowledge including certifications and degrees.
  • Natural Gas Compression Experience.
  • PHMSA 192 knowledge.
Required Education
  • High school diploma.
Preferred Education
  • Technical degree or college degree.
