Job Overview – Salesperson
An entry‑level sales position that supports the DIY business and helps achieve sales and service objectives. The role requires a solid understanding of store systems, basic automotive and part knowledge, and the ability to source items from stores, hubs, PDQ, and external suppliers. It involves inventory knowledge and maintenance processes, and can be part‑time or full‑time. Fleet safety certification is preferred.
PrimaryResponsibilities – Salesperson
- Provide an excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal sales goals and help the store reach its sales targets.
- Perform DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper blade installs.
- Maintain store product and operational standards.
- Handle inventory processes, including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock management.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- General stocking, including truck stocking and back‑stock organization.
- Safely deliver parts to customers as needed.
- Basic driving and navigation ability.
- Proficiency with a delivery board system.
- Friendly communication skills.
- Ability to locate and stock parts quickly.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and skills.
- Competence in operating inventory systems and store equipment.
- Understanding of parts and automotive system knowledge.
- Experience with POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY service.
Job Skills – Salesperson
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build relationships with customers, peers, and management.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Use basic math accurately and confidently.
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- 2‑3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences.

Employees will predominantly be walking or standing. Tasks include talking, hearing, and using hands and fingers for handling or feeling, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds are required. Visual requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WorkEnvironment
Work is usually conducted indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to various weather conditions. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosions; and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate.
