Position OverviewAs an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will oversee day‑to‑day restaurant operations, drive customer satisfaction and team engagement, and lead operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines.
- Cultivates a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee’s core values.
- Responds immediately to all verbal guest complaints.
- Initiates required table visits to maintain guest contact.
- Maintains departmental inventory levels.
- Ensures product preparation meets company standards by performing line checks.
- Schedules employees to meet sales demands.
- Maintains effective safety and security programs.
- Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
- Reports needed repairs to General Manager/Area Director.
- Promotes recruitment of potential team members and management candidates.
- Encourages Flynn Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
- Supports staff development through orientation, training sessions, meetings, and documentation.
- Uses One‑on‑One and performance documentation to develop employees.
- Provides fair feedback and works on employee development areas.
- Monitors performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary action.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
- Controls costs in assigned department.
- Complies with local, state and federal laws and regulations.
- Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories.
- Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork.
- Maintains sanitation standards exceeding Health Department and Flynn standards.
- Serves as a role model for managers and employees.
- Develops proficiency in store‑related technology.
- Will be willing to work in all positions, including cooking, expo, seating, bartending, etc.
- Participates in the Management Development Program for continuous growth.
- At least 2–3 years of restaurant management experience.
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Applebee’s® Assistant Managers earn $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually for a 50‑hour work week. Potential monthly bonus may apply.

Physical Standards- Work various shifts, including weekends.
- Stand and move well‑paced for up to ten hours.
- Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds.
- Read and write to facilitate communication.
- Use finger and hand dexterity for small tools and equipment.
