SA Recycling, a world leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is seeking a Laborer with experience operating heavy equipment. This role includes processing and disassembly of various types of scrap metal; loading and unloading trailers using heavy and light equipment; yard cleanup and maintenance; and other general physical labor to ensure the highest quality of scrap material is processed and shipped to customers safely and efficiently.
This position works outside in varying weather conditions and SA Recycling adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Hours:
8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to noon.

- Provide a positive customer experience by answering questions; assisting in the unloading and sorting of materials; educating customers on acceptable materials; and thanking them for their business.
- Ensure a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.
- Direct customers, suppliers, and truck drivers into proper position for loading and unloading material.
- Identify and grade acceptable ferrous and nonferrous material and identify material for upgrade potential.
- Prepare autos for processing, such as the removal of designated parts, fluids, etc.
- Recover refrigerants and other identified parts from appliances.
- Safely operate machinery such forklifts, skid steers, balers, front end loaders, and other equipment to load and unload material; move containers and scrap metal; and process material for shipping.
- Perform daily equipment inspections on assigned equipment and report any concerns, defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties around the yard and customer areas to maintain a safe and clean environment for all.
- Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
- 1 year of experience operating forklift, skid steer, front end loader, or other light and heavy equipment in an industrial environment.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
- Ability to carry out instructions provided in written or oral form.
- Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.
