Basic Function

The test lab technician will support the development of new products and the improvement of existing products by building, servicing, troubleshooting, fabricating, and testing pumps, pump systems, and their components, along with analyzing test results and conducting teardown evaluations.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Test pumps and pump components in accordance with the lab schedule, including:
  • Plumb and wire pumps for testing
  • Operate test equipment
  • Tabulate/report test results
• Fabricate components and fixtures for tests
• Analyze test results
• Tear down and rebuild pumps
• Evaluate and troubleshoot pumps
• Utilize basic MS Office applications
• Follow work instructions and create new instructions where none exist
• Travel less than 5%
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications And Skills

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Three to five years related experience or two-year associate degree in related field plus one to three years related experience
• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Understanding of AC and DC power systems, electrical schematics, and ladder logic
• Machinist skills preferred
• Familiarity with pumps and pump systems
• Good written and oral communication skills required
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Lifting up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds about two-thirds of the time, and up to 100 pounds up to one-third of the time. Must be able to reach, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and balance. Heavy or awkward loads are assisted by cranes, hoists, or forklifts.
