Hartzell Propeller is the leading manufacturer of aircraft propeller systems for general aviation, supplying systems for aircraft manufacturers and modifiers worldwide. We are located in Piqua, Ohio, a small-town community within easy drive of Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati.
Responsibilities- Operate machine tools or special purpose machines to machine metal parts to required specifications
- Run standard operating procedures on multiple axis machines
- Contact Manufacturing Services to troubleshoot process problems
- Change perishable tooling when required
- Install new tool holders
- Follow set up instructions to set up CNC machines
- Follow inspection plans to inspect parts
- Communicate to co-workers on status of cell operations
- Participate in continuous improvement activities
- Troubleshoot tooling as required
- Work holding (fixturing–chucking)
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
Experience
- 1-3 years of machinist experience
Technical Skills
- Machining experience
- Millturn & multi‑axis machines
- Swiss machines
- Integrex and Mazak desired
- Competency in machining skills
- Tooling
- Fixturing
- Chucking
- Work holding
- Programming preferred
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
