Payroll Services - Associate Controller

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is hiring an Associate Controller for Payroll Services. This senior role involves leading and overseeing university-wide payroll operations, ensuring accurate compensation payments, managing transitions to Oracle Cloud HCM, coordinating with tax and HR departments, and maintaining compliance with regulations while improving payroll processes.

• Lead payroll operations and ensure timely compensation for all university employees and related entities.
• Manage Oracle Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) implementation and transition from People Soft.
• Collaborate with University Tax and Human Resource departments on tax, benefits with holdings, and payroll liabilities.
• Establish internal controls over payroll authorizations and adjustments, and oversee financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to standardize payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
• Serve as primary contact for payroll labor and union matters, resolving issues under collective bargaining agreements.
• Required skills include knowledge of Department of Labor and IRS regulations, project management, and proficiency with Oracle Cloud HCM.
• Minimum qualifications:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field with at least eight years of progressively responsible leadership experience in finance/accounting.
• Preferred qualifications include CPA certification and payroll accounting experience in higher education.
• Salary range: $143,712 to $220,090 with benefits including medical, dental, retirement plans, and paid leave.
