Data Center Analyst,
Locations:
Either (Totowa, NJ; Piscataway, NJ; or Somerset, NJ). The candidate will have a “home base” at one location but should be flexible to staff the others as necessary.
Duration: 6-12 month contract,
Pay: $45.00/hr W-2
- Schedule: Fully onsite, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with occasional opportunity for overtime

CBTS is seeking a dependable contractor to support operations within a modern data center environment. This role is primarily focused on asset tracking, inventory management, shipping and receiving, workspace organization, procurement support, and disposal of packaging and materials. It also includes basic hands‑on support for hardware‑related tasks such as cabling, labeling, moving, and handling equipment under established procedures. The role offers exposure to current technology, data center infrastructure, and operational processes, making it a good opportunity for someone interested in building experience in technical operations, infrastructure, or related areas.

This position plays an important role in keeping data center operations organized, efficient, and well-supported. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a structured operational setting. We would prefer candidates to have approximately 2 years of experience working in a data center environment as a Data Center Analyst.

• Support day‑to‑day logistics operations, including asset tracking, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and general organization.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, asset movements, equipment status, and related documentation.
• Conduct inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies in asset management systems.
• Organize storage areas, staging spaces, and work areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
• Handle disposal of packaging, boxes, and other materials to keep operational spaces orderly.
• Procure, restock, and track data center hardware, supplies, and consumables in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Follow documented procedures for receiving, labeling, documenting, storing, and moving equipment.
• Assist with basic hardware handling tasks such as moving equipment, labeling components, tracing cables, rack and stack activities, or supporting simple part swaps as directed.
• Update ticketing systems, asset records, inventory tools, and other documentation accurately.
• Identify and report basic equipment, inventory, or process issues to senior data center staff.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting ways to improve workflow, organization, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

• Basic familiarity with hardware components such as servers, drives, power supplies, and cables, or willingness to learn.

• Prior experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping/receiving, procurement support, or a data center analyst.
• Experience with asset management systems, inventory tools, ticketing systems, or similar operational platforms.
