Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Student Assistant will work on ongoing studies on the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity. Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs molecular biology experiments, including genotyping, molecular cloning, and plasmid design.
- Conducts cell culture, transfection, and live cell imaging activities.
- Assists with biochemical assays such as co-immunoprecipitation and Western blotting.
- Analyzes data and troubleshoots experiments as necessary.
- Reviews and summarizes literature on research-related topics.
