Overview
Entry Level Engineer – Leadership Technical Orientation Program (LTOP) LTOP is a 52-week mentored program sponsored by Linde’s United States Bulk and On-Site unit. The program provides broad exposure to plant operations with opportunities for technical cross-training and is designed for engineers who want to pursue a management career and grow within the organization.
Location:
Pittsburg, CA. Estimated start date for the LTOP program is on or around July 1, 2026. Some travel to selected locations in the US may be required.
- Operate the plant using the control system and field equipment (motors, compressors, pumps, instrumentation, and utilities).
- Assess and optimize energy efficiency of plant equipment; adjust operating modes or equipment as needed to improve performance.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues and implement solutions.
- Utilize control systems and advanced controls technology to optimize plant performance.
- Train operators in safety and plant operations.
- Provide supervision of plant personnel or drivers as assigned by facility management.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal Quality Assurance requirements; initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Contribute to the Linde Safety Program through training, documentation, inspections, and deficiency correction.
- Monitor plant and distribution costs relative to budgets and targets for improvement.
- Assist plant operations and distribution personnel with day-to-day activities, such as operating the plant, taking readings, inspections, and QA tests.
- Execute projects within budget and schedules; participate in technical sales and business development activities.
- BS in Chemical or Electrical Engineering.
- 3.0 GPA out of 4.0 highly desirable.
- 0-3 years of experience preferred; prior internship or co-op experience preferred.
- Strong technical skill sets with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive cross-functional relationships.
- Self-starter who can work independently and in cross-functional teams; ability to manage multiple priorities and drive issues to completion.
- Detail-oriented with perseverance; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to travel to assigned facilities within the region and to other regions occasionally (travel outside the region not expected to exceed 25%).

Pay:
Salary commensurate with experience; open to $85,000 - $90,000.
