Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Role: Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN CAP
2) responsible for delivering and coordinating clinically competent care for dialysis patients.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, including hemodialysis treatment adjustments.
• Perform data collection before, during, and after treatments, documenting in medical records.
• Provide patient and family education on treatment options and care management.
• Administer medications, assist with emergencies, and ensure safe treatment delivery.
• Delegate tasks to care staff, serve as a resource, and mentor new employees.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational activities.
• Ensure proper laboratory procedures are followed and reschedule missed collections.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to update care plans and outcomes.

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with current state licensure.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nephrology nursing experience, with at least 3 months in hemodialysis.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and assist with patient mobility.
• Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.

• Supervisory oversight may include guiding care staff after meeting specific training and experience criteria.
• Work environment includes direct patient care in a healthcare setting, with exposure to infectious materials.
• Physical demands involve moving equipment and patients, with accommodations available if needed.
