Position SummaryThe Host Cashier is responsible to provide gracious, kind, and warm service that creates a sense of hometown hospitality and fun with our guests. They will have extensive menu knowledge, greet guests, anticipate their needs, seat them, and tender payments. Focus on department goals: consistency, quality, and sense of urgency.
General Accountabilities- Be punctual to pre‑shift meetings with a positive attitude and openly participate.
- Consistently provide hometown hospitality and deliver fun, as well as live the core values of fun, friendly, and community.
- Safeguard company assets and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Maintain and be held accountable for all funds entrusted to them during assigned shifts.
- Create teamwork by helping co‑workers with essential functions.
- Balance all money transactions and paperwork.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including strict adherence to attendance and appearance guidelines and confidentiality regarding guest information.
- Be alert for fraud, forged or counterfeit currency and/or vouchers.
- Balance all funds under responsibility and prepare reconciliation reports.
- Operate the point of sale system according to training provided.
- Clean as you go, clean spills immediately.
- Use chemicals as prescribed and responsibly, ensuring all chemicals are in properly labeled containers.
- Ensure that the cash inventory is well secured at all times.
- Accept and confirm reservations.
- Conduct oneself in a gracious, kind and warm manner that creates fondness, reflecting positively on the company’s core values of fun, friendly, and community.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of team members, guests, and outside contacts.
- Work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
- Work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Extended time on your feet.
Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or GED. Cashiering experience preferred. Friendly demeanor and excellent communication with the public. Able to work in an intense, fast‑paced environment that requires a high degree of concentration. Positive, enthusiastic approach to all assignments. Attendance and punctuality are essential. Clean, well‑groomed, and professional appearance. Optimistic outlook, proven track record of leading, inspiring, and service excellence.
Attention to quality details, great communication skills, and ability to deliver fun.
- Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
- Obtain required license(s).
- Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures related to the department.
- Know property’s programs to address problem gambling.
- Consult with appropriate individuals and maintain written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and internal controls.
- Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to management.
- Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any team member that they have knowledge of.
