Tax Preparer

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to support our firm during the upcoming tax season. This is a contract position based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with the possibility of becoming permanent depending on firm needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in individual tax return preparation and familiarity with industry-standard software.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare accurate and timely individual tax returns in accordance with current regulations.

- Utilize Lacerte Tax Software to efficiently manage and process tax filings.

- Review documentation provided by clients to ensure compliance and completeness.

- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and answer tax-related questions.

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and apply them effectively during preparation.

- Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive client data.

- Assist in resolving discrepancies or issues related to tax filings.

- Work closely with team members to meet deadlines and ensure high-quality service.

- Provide recommendations to clients for tax-saving opportunities based on their financial situation. Requirements - Proven experience in individual tax preparation.

- Proficiency with Lacerte Tax Software or similar programs.

- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.

- Capacity to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

- Relevant certifications or educational background in accounting or taxation preferred.
