Psychiatrist - Geriatric Focus (Collaborative Agreements)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist licensed in Pennsylvania to provide high-quality psychiatric care to geriatric patients across a variety of clinical settings. The ideal candidate will also serve as a collaborating psychiatrist for nurse practitioners and physician assistants under Pennsylvania's collaborative agreement regulations

This role combines clinical leadership
, direct patient care
, and interdisciplinary collaboration
, supporting the mental health needs of older adults while guiding advanced practice providers in delivering exceptional behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning for geriatric patients (generally age 60+).
  • Provide ongoing supervision and collaborative oversight for psychiatric nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants, in accordance with Pennsylvania Board of Medicine and Board of Nursing requirements.
  • Maintain and review collaborative agreements; be available for consultation as required by law and organizational policy.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, social workers, therapists, and nursing staff to coordinate care plans.
  • Participate in case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary meetings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Stay current with developments in geriatric psychiatry and best practices in collaborative supervision.
  • Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Psychiatry
    ; Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship preferred but not required.
  • Active, unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license
    .
  • DEA registration in good standing.
  • Experience working with geriatric and/or adult populations in outpatient, inpatient, or long-term care settings.
  • Prior experience holding collaborative agreements with advanced practice providers strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
