Permanent Full Time Technical Solutions Inc is currently seeking a Geotechnical Staff Engineer on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh area engineering consultant.  Duties:

Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, subcontractor coordination, implementation, field data collection, and oversight, data reporting.

Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and design calculations for foundations, soil/rock slope stability, settlements, temporary excavation support systems, retaining walls etc.

Perform geologic and seismic hazard evaluations.

Write technical reports and other documents explaining the rationale for pertinent analyses, designs, and recommendations.

Assist with the preparation of construction drawings, and specifications for geotechnical infrastructure.

Work as integral member of the engineering team on complex, multi-discipline projects.

Job Requirements Qualifications include: BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.

MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.

Completion of relevant coursework in geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, subsurface investigation methods.
2-3 years of relevant industry experience.

Engineer in Training (EIT) certification

Competence in geotechnical analysis software such as SLIDE, SETTLE3, RSPIile, LPILE, SEEP/W etc.

Ability to move up to 60 pounds.

A valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record. Ability to manage a number of concurrent assignments and priorities.

Strong analytical and technical communication skills.

Willingness to work in the field and travel for short-term/long-term assignments.
