At UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, we are more than a hospital - we are a trusted partner in every stage of a woman's life. From groundbreaking research and advanced treatments to compassionate, personalized care, Magee has been a leader in women's health for generations. Whether welcoming new life, supporting complex health needs, or guiding patients through every milestone, our experts combine innovation with empathy to deliver care that inspires confidence and comfort.

UPMC Magee is honored to have been designated as a Magnet-designated hospital - twice! At Magee, we don't just treat patients - we care for people, families, and futures. Join us and be part of a team that's shaping the future of women's health.

Antepartum (2800) is a 28-bed high risk antepartum unit with a welcoming staff and a teamwork-focused environment. Our work includes non-stress tests, stent and cerclage placements, and wound debridement; we partner closely with the physician team to care for high risk pregnancies, preterm labor, C-sections, and methadone conversions, as well as delivered patients with infants admitted to the NICU and fetal demise mothers.

Due to the nature of the unit, our patients can experience very high highs and very low lows, and are in need of uniquely compassionate attention and care; staff on 2800 must be empathic and stout of heart.

What can you Expect as a Professional Staff Nurse?

The Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. A role that requires independent judgment, fluent communication, and candid partnership, the Professional Staff Nurse establishes relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients' families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

As a Professional Staff Nurse and a member of the care delivery team, you will set the standards for the level and quality of nursing care and possess authority and accountability for its provision. At all times, you will exemplify a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.
