Job Description
HVAC Hernandez is seeking skilled and experienced Commercial HVAC Technicians to join our team serving commercial clients throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area and surrounding counties. In this role, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems across retail buildings, offices, schools, property management, and light-industrial facilities. The ideal candidate will diagnose system issues, perform preventive maintenance, ensure all work meets safety and code requirements, and communicate effectively with customers and team members to deliver high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC/R systems
- Install, replace, and upgrade HVAC equipment
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and routine inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical, control, and mechanical system issues
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
- Handle refrigerant recovery, charging, and compliance procedures
- Perform brazing and fabrication tasks as needed
- Complete system assessments and recommend effective solution
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Ensure safety and regulatory compliance on all job sites
- Communicate findings clearly with customers and supervisors
- Provide excellent customer service and address client concerns
- Collaborate with other trades on construction and service projects
Requirements
- 10 years of HVAC installation experience preferred, but candidates with fewer years of experience who demonstrate strong industry knowledge are encouraged to apply
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with RTUs, VRF/VRV, split systems, and refrigeration
- Ability to troubleshoot efficiently
- Proficient understanding of mechanical/electrical HVAC systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
