Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We're seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a contract opportunity in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys staying organized, works well with details, and takes pride in keeping payment processes accurate and on schedule.

In this position, you'll play an important part in supporting day-to-day accounts payable operations. You'll help ensure invoices are processed efficiently, questions are resolved quickly, and financial records stay organized. What you'll do:

+ Review incoming invoices to make sure they are complete, accurate, and include the proper supporting documentation

+ Code invoices appropriately and enter payment information into the financial system

+ Process vendor invoices in a timely manner while following approval workflows

+ Match invoices to purchase orders, receipts, and other supporting records as needed

+ Work with internal teams and vendors to research and resolve billing discrepancies or payment-related questions

+ Keep accounts payable files and documentation organized for reporting and audit purposes

+ Track payment status and help ensure approved invoices are paid on time

+ Support additional accounts payable and finance-related administrative tasks as needed

Requirements - Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting support position

- Working knowledge of invoice coding, invoice review, and payment processing procedures

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate records

- Comfortable using accounting software, spreadsheets, and standard office applications

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

- Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal staff

- High level of reliability, organization, and professionalism in handling financial information
