Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This role will be instrumental in developing robust and efficient power systems, analogue and digital circuits, and will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our PCBA designs. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of mechanical, firmware, and software engineers to bring innovative products from concept to market.

This is a hands-on role that requires a blend of theoretical knowledge, practical lab skills, and novel problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end PCBA development process.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contract manufacturers (CMs) to oversee PCBA prototyping, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Perform board bring-up, debugging, and validation of new hardware designs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and quality standards.
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, design specifications, and test reports.
  • Ensure products meet regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., FCC, CE, UL, RoHS).
  • Collaborate with the firmware team on embedded system design and integration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Masters in a related field preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in electrical hardware and systems design.
  • PCBA Design: Proven experience managing the entire PCBA development process, from schematic capture and component selection to guiding layout, generating BOMs, and working with contract manufacturers. Experience with UL design best practices as well as requirements.
  • EDA Tools: Proficiency with EDA software such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or OrCAD.
  • Power Systems: Experience in designing and analyzing power systems, including AC/DC converters and linear regulators, as well as evaluating and mitigating noise and emissions.
  • Embedded Systems: Strong background in embedded system design, including microcontroller selection, hardware/firmware integration, and familiarity with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB). Experience with UL functional safety devices and requirements preferred.
  • Hands-On

    Skills:

Demonstrable experience with board bring-up, debugging, and validation using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and equity package in line with experience.
  • Meaningful equity in a high-growth start-up.
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continued learning.
